However, they have since blown those expectations out of the water, mostly due to their superb defensive record. Beating the defenders of Ho Chi Minh City has been shown to not be a simple task for all the teams in the league. Coach Chung Hae-Song always want the team to not concede goals before thinking about the win. Up to now, they have played 29 matches in all competitions, the most in the league. With their participation in AFC Cup, Hanoi always in the tight schedule with 2-3 games per week to play.
