For a\u00a0second year, we follow every Asian football player in the Europe.<\/p>\n

From Japan, South Korea and North Korea and China, all the way to Iran, Jordan, and Uzbekistan, Asian players have moved to the European continent to advance their football career. Out of these players, many play in second-division leagues of Europe, or smaller European leagues such as Poland, Greece, and Austria which are not considered among the elite.<\/p>\n

At Football Tribe Asia, we rank the best ones who currently play in top-flight leagues in England, Spain, Germany, Italy, France, Netherlands, Russia and Portugal as per UEFA Coefficient ranking.<\/p>\n

The followings are top 5 Asian players in the elite football leagues of Europe based on performance and ratings in February 2017.<\/p>\n

5. Makoto Hasebe:<\/strong> Despite making headlines for a comical penalty miss against Ingolstadt, the 34-year-old Hasebe has been solid performer recently, racking up nearly 50 passes per match for Eintracht Frankfurt with an accuracy rate of around 82,5%. He earned an average rating of 7.15.<\/p>\n

4. Genki Haraguchi:<\/strong> The Japanese attacker currently plays for Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin. In February, the 25-year-old has impressed greatly with great performances against traditional powerhouse Bayern Munich, helping the team to a draw. He also scored a match-winning goal against Ingolstadt. The former Urawa Red Diamonds winger earned an average rating of 7.16.<\/p>\n

3. Yuya Osako<\/strong>: The 26-year old Japanese attacking midfielder\u00a0plays for Bundesliga side FC Cologne. This is the second consecutive month this season he\u00a0features among the list of top 5 players in Europe. Osako’s outstanding performance included an assist for the only goal against Schalke and his\u00a0goal against Leipzig.\u00a0Osako earned a rating of 7.23 for his 5 appearances in February.<\/p>\n

2. Maya Yoshida<\/strong>: Yoshida currently plays for English Premier side Southampton. Yoshida concreted his starting spots by playing in 3 games in February. The center defender was solid all around and his passing ratio stands at an excellent rate of 85.9%. Yoshida’s\u00a0performances in February ranked at\u00a07.28 out of 10.<\/p>\n

1. Ja-Cheol Koo<\/strong>: \u00a0The South Korean plays for Bundesliga-side Augsburg. Koo featured in\u00a03 matches in February\u00a0and made a great impact for his team. Koo\u00a0was the man of the match in the victory against Werder Bremen when he\u00a0scored a goal and got an assist. In another match, against Bayer Leverkusen, he provided an assist for his team\u2019s only goal. The 28-year-old earned an average rating of 7.42 out of 10.<\/p>\n
