Four-time Thai League champions Muangthong United have made a statement of intent by securing a deal for Myanmar star Aung Thu.<\/p>\n
The attacker spent last season on at fellow Bangkok-based club Police Tero FC, where he scored 11 goals and bagged 8 assists from 30 appearances. While he was unable to keep his side from relegation, his excellent debut season has earned him a move to one of the nation’s top sides.<\/p>\n
For Muangthong, this signing is a statement of intent. The side are looking to pick themselves up after a disappointing 2018 campaign. Despite finishing fourth, the Kirin finished the season closer to the relegation zone than eventual champions Buriram United in terms of total points.<\/p>\n
To compensate for the move, Muangthong have reportedly sent youngsters Korrawit Tasa and Ruengyos Janchaichit on loan to Police Tero, ahead of their campaign in the second division next season.<\/p>\n
