Melbourne Victory youngster Pierce Waring will audition for the J.League’s Cerezo Osaka during the league’s upcoming World Cup break,\u00a0Football Tribe has learned.<\/p>\n
The 19-year-old, who is currently under contract with Melbourne Victory, made his top team debut last month in an AFC Champions League fixture against Shanghai SIPG, scoring a goal in the same match.<\/p>\n
Waring holds a Japanese passport through his mother and would be eligible to join the reigning Emperor’s Cup champions as a domestic signing. The 192-centimeter-tall striker speaks the local language, having spent four years at the academy of current J2 League side Avispa Fukuoka as a child.<\/p>\n
“Cerezo have fantastic facilities and this is a great opportunity for me,” Waring told Football Tribe. “Everyone at the club has been wonderful so far. I’m looking forward to the experience.”<\/p>\n
