K League 1’s first mid-week round took place on April 11. After such a short break, former title holders did well.<\/p>\n

Gangwon FC and Suwon Samsung saw a so-called ‘Pele Score.’ Pele Score is used to describe a match that results in 3-2, originated by Pele’s remark, “winning by one goal, especially 3 to 2, is the ideal score in football.”<\/p>\n

Pele score itself is fun for fans; if the last goal came in during the stoppage time, it\u00a0would be even more fun. Gangwon and Suwon’s match was among them.<\/p>\n

Both teams played an offense-oriented match. Gangwon’s Kang Ji-hoon scored the opener as well as the first goal in his career on 25 minutes.<\/p>\n

Suwon did not let Gangwon take three points away. Kim Kun-hee found the net with his header from Cristovam’s cross right before the first half ended. It was the first goal since June\u00a02016.<\/p>\n

Not long after the second half started, Gangwon earned a freekick. Uros Deric did not miss a chance as Suwon’s defenders failed to clear the ball from Oh Beom-seok’s shot. Suwon again evened the score as Kim Kun-hee caused Dylan McGowan’s own goal. It was the fourth goal that came in\u00a0on 53 minutes, and the third goal within ten minutes.<\/p>\n

In 91st minute,\u00a0Waguininho earned a free kick near the box. ‘The left-footed magician’ Yeom Ki-hoon again saved the team as the ball found the back of the net.<\/p>\n

Suwon could go into a deeper slump followed by a rather listless draw at Super Match. However, this result, with a Pele score, fantastic performance by a newbie and a foreign player and a dramatic winning goal, can change help the atmosphere.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Jeonbuk Hyundai proved that the old eagle is better than the young crow.<\/p>\n

The match between Gyeongnam FC and Jeonbuk grabbed the most attention in this round. K Leauge 2’s defending champion has been on top of the table and seemed ready to become K League’s Leicester City.<\/p>\n

However, Jeonbuk were strong. Gyeongnam possessed the ball 55% of the time but were not very effective. Among 12 attempts, only three of them\u00a0were on target. Meanwhile, Jeonbuk\u00a0recorded 17 attempts with seven on target.<\/p>\n

Jeonbuk’s key defenders Kim Jin-su and Hong Jeong-ho missed the match due to injury; their ace Lee Jae-sung was given a rest as well. However, they still dominated the match.<\/p>\n

Kim Shin-wook\u00a0bagged a brace, overwhelming the most popular foreign player in K League, Malcao. Malcao was marked tightly by Kim Min-jae, and could not do much. Son Jeong-hyun, who had put in a decent performance in the previous matches, was rather helpless.<\/p>\n

In the past five matches, Gyeongnam scored 12 goals conceded four; in this match alone with Jeonbuk, however, they could not score any and conceded four, and allowed Jeonbuk to prove their “class.”<\/p>\n
