Western Sydney Wanderers have released experienced duo Chris Herd and Jerrad Tyson near the end of his first season with the club, it was confirmed on Thursday.<\/p>\n
As reported on the Hyundai A-League website<\/a>, both strikers have their contract terminated by mutual consent with the Wanderers.<\/p>\n While Herd has agreed to end his time with the club to be closer to family in the UK, the reason for\u00a0Tyson’s departure has been disclosed. The goalkeeper\u00a0has not played any A-League time this season.<\/p>\n \u201cI would like to thank the Wanderers, the coaching staff, office staff, players and the fans,\u201d said Herd.<\/p>\n \u201cI had a great time at the club and I want to wish my teammates and the club good luck and all the best for the rest of the season.\u201d<\/p>\n For Tyson, the 28-year0-old goalkeeper revealed he was leaving for another opportunity after his second spell at the club.<\/p>\n \u201cLeaving and goodbyes are never easy, particularly when it’s to a club, a group of players, club staff and fans that mean so much to you,\u201d said Tyson.<\/p>\n \u201cThe last 12 months have been very difficult returning from injury but the support and care of all those above, in particular my teammates, have made it possible and I’m forever grateful for that.<\/p>\n \u201cAs a professional, I’ve always been driven to play at the top level.
