Welcome to Football Tribe’s latest feature, the ‘Top 10 Southeast Asian Clubs of the Month’, which takes a look at the 10 best performing clubs across the region throughout a particular month.<\/p>\n

The first edition of this article focuses on the 10 best clubs acros Southeast Asia in March, where the likes of Buriram United, Johor Darul Ta’zim and even Persija Jakarta caught the eye of many with their impressive performances.<\/p>\n

Here’s the list for March 2018:<\/p>\n

10) Bali United<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nGoals Scored: 4\/1<\/em>
\nStandout Player: Stefano Lilipaly<\/em><\/p>\n

While they drew their opening Liga 1 Indonesia match, Bali United looked solid in the AFC Cup throughout May, clinching two important victories that has significantly strengthened their chances of making it to the knockout stages. They were also unbeaten in three matches across all competitions in March, scoring four goals and only conceding one.<\/p>\n

9) PKNS FC<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nStandout Player: Rafael Ramazotti<\/em><\/p>\n

Malaysia’s PKNS FC continued their strong start to the season with three strong wins throughout March, including a 4-1 win over Kelantan, which takes them into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. They also scored 9 goals in three games and only conceded two goals throughout March.<\/p>\n

8) Pattaya United<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nStandout Player: Lukian<\/em><\/p>\n

Pattaya United are one of the major underdog teams that did well in Thailand across March. Despite their status as minnows, Pattaya only lost one in five and managed to even steal an unprecedented win over Bangkok Glass. They also recorded three clean sheets throughout March en route to sitting 7th on the table. Sensational stuff!<\/p>\n

7) Hanoi FC<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nStandout Player: Oseni<\/em><\/p>\n

Hanoi further strengthened their status as favourites for the title with a 100% record in March, recording two wins out of their first two matches. They also remain one of two remaining clubs who have yet to concede a goal in the V.League this season.<\/p>\n

6) Pahang FA<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nStandout Player: Mohamadou Sumareh<\/em><\/p>\n

Pahang continue to be JDT’s strongest challengers on top of the MSL table with three consecutive wins, and they only conceded one goal in March. The Elephants are also through to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Kedah<\/p>\n

5) PT Prachuap<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nStandout Player: Chitpanya Tisud<\/em><\/p>\n

PT Prachuap are making their debut in the top division of Thai football and but they were massive giant-killers in March, thrashing Muangthong United 6-1 at one point. They recorded 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat to currently sit 4th on the table – an incredible feat for a newly-promoted side!<\/p>\n

4) Persija Jakarta<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nStandout Player: Marko Simic<\/em><\/p>\n

March was a positive month for Persija as they remained unbeaten on all fronts. They are currently second on the Liga 1 table with four points from two games, while they also clinched an important win over Song Lam Nghe An in the AFC Cup.<\/p>\n

3) Than Quang Ninh<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nStandout Player: Edyson<\/em><\/p>\n

March was an impressive month for Than Quang Ninh, who are now on top of the V.League, against all odds, with two wins and one draw. They also bagged five goals in three games, with Edyson playing a starring role.<\/p>\n

2) Johor Darul Ta’zim<\/strong><\/p>\n

Despite the departure of Ulisses Morais, JDT remained unbeaten throughout March and notched 4 wins and one draw, which was a 0-0 score away from home against Tampines. They remain on top of the MSL table and are also through to the quarter-finals of the Malaysia FA Cup.<\/p>\n

1) Buriram United<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nStandout Player: Diogo<\/em><\/p>\n

Buriram United continued to show why they are arguably the best club in Southeast Asia. They were unbeaten throughout March, despite facing several difficult ACL ties. They managed to beat Cerezo Osaka at home, before getting a draw in Japan.
