Al Wahda manager Javier Aguirre said in a recent interview that his side\u2019s 3-0 Arabian Gulf League defeat away to Al Nasr had nothing to do with fatigue, but instead was a result of the player’s mistakes.<\/p>\n
Al Wahda defeated Al Wehdat 3-0 at home to qualify for the group stage of the 2017 AFC Champions League last week. However, just four days later, the team was handed a 3-0 defeat by Al Nasr – a result which is expected to damage their chance of a top-three finish this season.<\/p>\n
However, Javier Aguirre insisted that the embarrassing defeat had nothing to do with fatigue.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere was a balance between the two teams until Al Nasr scored the first goal. Then we weren\u2019t able to comeback\u201d the Mexican coach told reporters.<\/p>\n
“This was not about the Asian Champions League, it was about the mistakes we made,” he added.<\/p>\n
Al Wahda is currently sitting in the sixth place in the Arabian Gulf League table, 13 points behind the third place with just 8 matches remaining.<\/p>\n
