Chinese international midfielder Huang Bowen won’t be able to participate in the Chinese Super Cup on Saturday, official sources confirmed.
Huang was absent from Guangzhou Evergrande 7-0 victory over Eastern in their 2017 Asian Champions League opener.
“Huang Bowen is still unavailable due to injury, although Mei Fang has come back to training,” Guangzhou Evergrande manager Luiz Filipe Scolari said.
“Tomorrow will be a normal match, with both sides having the chance of winning the Super Cup. We will treat it in a normal way, with no pressure,” he added.
Guangzhou will take on Jiangsu Suning in the 2017 Chinese Super Cup. The Southern China Tigers defeated Jiangsu Suning in the same fixture last season.
