Matchday 25 saw a tightening at the top of the table with results that could have major ramifications on the outcome of the 2018 Liga 1 season.

The results from this weekend generated a rather interesting statistic. From the eight matches played, six of the winning sides managed to record clean sheets. Bhayangkara FC, Perseru Serui, PSIS Semarang, Borneo FC, Persija Jakarta and Bali United all managed to win this week without conceding a single goal.

Additionally, this weekend’s results mean that the title race is getting more intense. Persib Bandung’s 1-1 draw against Persipura Jayapura means that the league leaders are now only one point above PSM Makassar on the table. While in the third place, Persija Jakarta are still eyeing their first league title since 2001; an aspiration that still remains a possibility due to the fact that they are only three points behind Persib.
In the relegation battle, PSMS Medan are still at the bottom of the table, but they have the chance to improve their place in the standings if they are able to beat PS Tira. The crucial match was postponed this week, and the meeting of those two bottom clubs will very important in deciding who can avoid relegation.
