EXCLUSIVE: Sasalak Haiprakhon on AFC Champions League debut for Buriram United

Sasalak Haiprakhon – the winger of Buriram United, gave an exclusive interview for Football Tribe Thailand after his debut in AFC Champion League 1-1 draw with Chinese Super League champions Guangzhou Evergrande on Wednesday.

Former Bangkok United midfielder was coming from the bench after being substituted by Jakkaphan Kaewprom on the 80th minute. He almost struck a winning goal for the Thai League 1 side but his heading hit the bar.

However, it was enough for Buriram United to save a point in the opening match of this year’s ACL and also his first game in this tournament.

How about your first game in ACL?

I’m very excited to play in ACL for the first game. I try to relax when coming on the field and want to help my team as much as I can.

How was AFC Champions League different with Thai league? What do you feel about your almost score?

They play very fast. About my chance. I think I did my best but it should be better than this if I can score.

How about the next game?

We are ready for the next game with Jeju United. All of us want to help the team get 3 points.

Next game Buriram United will play home against Korean giants Jeju United on 21 February.
