Malaysia national team will get an RM30,000 (7,100 USD) reward from the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) president Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim (TMJ) if they beat Hong Kong in their 2019 Asia Cup qualifier.
“If they win, I will give a bonus of RM30,000. The players must understand that we (Malaysians) stand firmly behind them and pray for their success,” he told head coach Eduardo Vingada via video conferencing from Johor Baru yesterday, as quoted by The Star.
“Forget about the critics, take it as a challenge and answer them with your performance on the field. I will always support the team because I do not care about what people say,” he added.
In the home-leg on 6 September, Malaysia drew 1-1 with Hong Kong at the Hang Jebat Stadium in Melaka. With just a draw in two matches, the Garudas are standing at the bottom of Group B.
