TV commentator goes viral after bursting into tears after Syria’s heroic draw to Iran

The moment a TV commentator broke down in tears while celebrating Syria’s priceless World Cup qualifying draw against Iran has gone viral.

One day after the World Cup qualifier between Iran and Syria, a Twitter user named Mohamed Osama (@-DrOsama) posted the footage of a moment when Omar Al Soma scored in the 93rd minute, earning Syria a 2-2 draw and a place in the Asian play-offs for Russia 2018.

In this video, the commentator could be heard to shout excitedly and emotionally for two minutes.

“The second goal for our national team! The second goal for our national team! Who scored?! Soma! It had to be Soma! It had to be Soma!” he said, according to Osama’s translation.

“Allah Soma! The equalising goal! The equalising goal! Pardon me! I’ve lost it! No one can stop them!”

Following the repeated exclamation of “Allah!” the commentator started bursting into tears.
