Indonesia coach Luis Milla: Malaysia lucky to nick winner in the dying minutes

Luis Milla has to end his ambition to lead Indonesia U-22 to gold medal at this year’s SEA Games after suffering a 1-0 defeat to hosts Malaysia on Saturday evening.

In the post-match press conference, Milla admitted his players had managed to prevent the efforts from opponents, but the Ong Kim Swee’s side had a great ability to maximize their chances.

On the other hand, the Spaniard claimed that his players also had a number of chances to score goals, but their lack of calm in the final settlement left him disappointed.

“Malaysia were lucky to nick the winner in the dying minutes,” Milla insisted both teams had a 50-50 chance of winning, as quoted by The Star.

“My boys played well. We gave Malaysia a good fight until the final whistle but we just couldn’t get the goals,” said the former Real Madrid and Barcelona player.
