Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge rejects big-money move to Beijing Guoan

Daniel Sturridge has reportedly rejected a big-money move to China Super League side Beijing Guoan.

According to the Mirror, Beijing Guoan boss Roger Schmidt tried to get Sturridge to join before the Chinese Super League window closed on Friday.

However, the 27-year-old striker apparently told the Chinese club he was not interested in the move and insisted on staying and fighting for his place at Anfield.

There have been questions raised about Sturridge’s future since his injury record and playing style seem not to match with Jurgen Klopp’s system.

However, it looks like the Englishman will remain a Liverpool player next season.

Beijing Guoan notched up their second win in a row under new coach Roger Schmidt with a 2-0 victory over Guizhou Zhicheng, which helps the club clinch on the sixth place at Chinese Super League table after 17 matches.
