Ilija Spasojevic leads eight of newcomers to Indonesia squad

Indonesia national team head coach Luis Milla announced his squad on Saturday for the November’s international friendly matches against Syria U-23 and Guyana.

Merah Putih squad are scheduled to face Syria U-23 on November 18 and South American side Guyana seven days later, both games will be played at Wibawa Mukti Stadium, Cikarang.

Three young talents from Indonesia U-19 side Egy Maulana Vikri, Rafli Mursalim and Luthfi Kamal got their maiden call-up to senior team.

Montenegro-born forward Ilija Spasojevic also gets debut call-up after the 30-year-old striker has officialy received his Indonesian citizenship last month.

“Our objective and priority for these games are to call every players who will be prepared to play for U-23 team for 2018 Asian Games,” said Milla in a statement from PSSI.
