Vietnam coach Park Hang-seo: Vietnamese players have as good technique as South Korean

Newly-appointed Vietnam head coach Park Hang-seo praised his players but also noting that it would take more time for them to develop tactics and physical strength.

Park and his side have been taking the training sessions in Hanoi for the crucial 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Afghanistan on Tuesday next week.

“I can say that the Vietnamese players own great technique, which can be compared to the South Korean players. In terms of the tactics, the players still have not caught up with my lessons, but I think because I’m just appointed as their new coach. I hope things will get better in the next 2 to 3 days,” Park told Dan Tri Newspaper reporters on Friday.

On the other hand, the Korean coach believed he understood the weaknesses of opponents Afghanistan.

“They (Afghanistan) have many great players, whose playing styles depends much on their strength. They also use long passes to take advantage of the tall players.

“Especially, their midfielders are very strong, the left wingers are stronger than the right ones.

“Of course, Afghanistan have their weaknesses, especially they leave much space in the defense.”
