Tianjin Quanjian head coach Fabio Cannavaro praises Zhang Lu “one of the best goalkeepers” in the Chinese Super League.
“He is one of the best Chinese Super League goalkeepers,” said Cannavaro on Sunday, as quoted by Xinhua.
Starting his football career with Liaoning Whowin from their youth team, Zhang had quickly established himself to the first squad in his debut season.
Although Liaoning were relegated in 2008, Zhang decided to stay and was the crucial part that helped the team win the second division title as well as promotion back to the top tier after only one season.
In 2016, the 30-year-old transferred to his hometown club Tianjin Quanjian in the 70 million yuan contract, which entitles him as the most expensive Chinese player in the league’s history.
