Oscar: I’m on another level to Chinese players

Shanghai SIPG star Oscar claimed himself and foreign players in the Chinese Super League (CSL) are on another level to the local footballers.

The former Chelsea midfielder joined the CSL outfit in December last year for a reported £60m transfer fee.

His arrival along with another star players like Hulk, Carlos Tevez, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Axel Witsel has increased the Chinese football reputation for spending huge money.

However, some opinion said that their move are just focus on earning a lot of money rather than helping the development of Chinese footbal, but Oscar is determined to prove it wrong.

“Foreign players have more responsibility in China,” said the 26-year-old Brazilian international was quoted by Metro.

“The Chinese players are very good but the foreigners here like myself, Hulk, Elkeson in our team are on another level.”

Oscar and Shanghai SIPG are on their course to win the AFC Champions League title. where they will face J.League side Urawa Reds in the first leg of semi-final at Saitama Stadium on Monday.
