Esteghlal Tehran have opened negotiations over hiring Fatih Terim as their new head coach following the exit of Alireza Mansourian.
On Wednesday, Alireza Mansourian announced his resignation after a 1-1 home draw with Zob Ahan.
Under the guidance of Mansourian, Esteghlal sit in the bottom of the Persian Gulf Pro League table with five points from seven matches.
Until Esteghlal find a new coach, fitness coach Mick McDermott will take over the position as the caretaker of the squad.
The Persian Football reported that the Tehran-based club have negotiated with Terim in the last few days but the former Turkey national football team coach has not answered yet.
According to the sources close to the club, the new head coach of Esteghlal will be named on Saturday.
