Thailand will miss midfielder Chaiyawat Buran in 2 crucial SEA Games matches

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Disciplinary Committee has handed a two-match suspension for Thailand U-22 midfielder Chaiyawat Buran following his violent conduct in the match against Cambodia on Sunday.

Chaiyawat received his marching orders in the mass brawl involving several players from both sides just before the half-time whistle.

After a rough tackle by Hoy Phalin on Picha U-Tra, Chaiyawat kicked out at Phallin in retaliation, sparking an angry reaction from the Cambodian players.

The strict ban from AFC means the Chiangrai United midfielder will miss two crucial games against Indonesia on Tuesday and Vietnam two days later in SEA Games group stage.

Meanwhile, Thailand U-22 managers have sent an appeal against the ban. The final verdict is expected to be announced on Wednesday.
