Thailand U-23 visit Thai Buddhist monk who blessed Leicester City

Thailand U23 team have paid a visit to Buddhist monk Phra Prommangkalachan, who was thought to miraculously bring Leicester City the English Premier League trophy in 2016 season.

On Friday, head coach Worrawoot Srimaka with his team has paid a visit to the revered monk at the Golden Buddha Temple in Bangkok, which is believed to look for spiritual assistance before next week’s SEA Games in Malaysia.

Phra Prommangkalachan came to prominence when Thailand’s King Power duty-free company, owned by billionaire Vichai Srivaddhanaprbha, bought the club six years ago and asked the monk to bless the pitch and give talismans to the players

Many people believe that the Thai Buddhist monk handed out lucky charms to Leicester City in the incredible season of 2016, resulting in the English Premier League title ahead of powerhouses like Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United.

The SEA Games defending champions has departed for Malaysia on Saturday. They will play their first game against Indonesia on Aug 15, followed by Group B games against Timor Leste (Aug 17), Cambodia (Aug 20), the Philippines (Aug 22) and Vietnam (Aug 24).
