Former Muangthong striker Xisco joins Osasuna

Former Muangthong United striker Xisco Jimenez has signed a two-year contract with Spanish Segunda division side Osasuna.

The signing of Xisco has been announced by Osasuna on their official website. The Spaniard terminated his contract with the Thai League 1 side at the end of June.

Being trained in Deportivo La Coruña youth system, Xisco started his senior career by moving to Newcastle United of English Premier League in 2008.

However, Xisco’s time in England was not as successful and he played just 11 times during his four-and-a-half years at the Northeast club.

After spending a period of time wandering around many Spanish clubs, including Racing Santander, Deportivo La Coruna, Cordoba and Mallorca, the Spaniard sampled football on Asian shores when he signed with Thai League 1 side Muangthong United.

In Thailand, Xisco guaranteed himself a place in Thai sporting supporters as he scored an all-important goal in the famous 2-1 victory over Japanese champions Kashima Antlers in the 2017 AFC Champions League.
