Thiago Cunha and Ratchaburi manager handed heavy bans over violent mass brawl

Ratchaburi Mitr Phol manager Tanawat Nitikanchana and Chonburi striker have been handed heavy bans for involving in Saturday’s violent brawl during a Thai League 1 match.

According to the meeting on Wednesday, the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) has announced the three-month ban from entering football stadiums and from doing his duties for Tanawat. The Ratchaburi manager also faces a fine of 60,000 baht ($1.765).

Meanwhile, his team Ratchaburi also received a 100,000 baht ($2.940) fine for their ineffective security measures.

On the other hand, Cunha has been suspended for five games and fined 50,000 baht ($1.470).

On Tuesday, Tanawat announced a temporary leave of absence as Ratchaburi manager and offered apologies to all concerned parties.

Tanawat, Cunha and Ratchaburi are entitled to appeal.
