Singapore, Malaysia drop below Myanmar in FIFA rankings

Malaysia and Singapore slipped down in the FIFA world rankings released on Thursday, below Myanmar.

The Malaysians are 167th, with Singapore in 169th after both national teams endured unfavorable results in June. For Malaysia, the drastic fall was expected following their loss to Lebanon in the Asian Cup qualifiers, while the Singaporeans suffered an identical fate with a surprising defeat by Chinese Taipei.

In the Southeast Asian division, Philippines (127th) took the lead among the Asean Football Federation (AFF) members, while Thailand and Vietnam followed at No. 131 and No. 133 respectively.

The other Southeast Asian countries are Laos (No.171), Cambodia (173), Brunei (188) and Timor-Leste (196).
