Sven-Goran Eriksson urges Wayne Rooney to join Chinese Super League

Former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson urges Wayne Rooney to consider a move to China.

According to Eriksson, who has spent four years coaching in China, Rooney will have a “positive experience” should he move to the Chinese Super League.

“I haven’t spoken to Rooney for a long time, so I don’t know what he is thinking, but if he went to China I think he would have a positive experience,” said Eriksson, as quoted by Daily Mail.

“I hear a lot that China is not a good place to live for foreign people but that could not be further from the truth,” the 69-year-old Englishman insisted.

Rooney is under contract at Old Trafford until June 2019 but lost his place as he started just 24 games last season in all competitions.

The striker has since lost his captaincy to Harry Kane in England national team.
