JDT appoint Ulisses Morais as new head coach

Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) have officially appointed Portuguese Ulisses Morais as their new head coach for the rest of the 2017 season.

The 58-year-old takes over the job from Benjamin Mora, who was handling the club since January on a caretaker basis.

Morais, with experience coaching Portugal clubs Naval, SC Beira-Mar, Aves and most recently Famalicao Morais, has made the Malaysia Super League powerhouse his first adventure beyond his homeland.

His duties in The Southern Tigers is to secure the MSL champion at the end of the season and challenge for Malaysia Cup trophy.

Previously, JDT have parted ways with Gomez on the eve of the 2017 season. The Malaysian giants were knocked out of this year’s AFC Cup after losing to the Philippines’ Ceres Negro recently.
