Unfit Teerasil Dangda still joins training camp for qualifier against UAE

Thai striker Teerasil Dangda will join the national training camp in preparation for the World Cup qualifier against the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday.

According to Bangkok Post, the Muangthong United goalscorer has joined the national training camp at Kiarti Thanee Country Club despite carrying an injury.

Meanwhile, three of his Muangthong team-mates, including Chanathip Songkrasin, Theerathon Bunmathan and Tristan Do, have received criticism for pulling out of the national team, citing varying medical reasons.

Explaining his reason to join the training in spite of injuries, Teerasil said: “Of course, I still have an injury but it doesn’t mean that I cannot train or play. I have decided to be a part of the national team training camp. Whether I have a role to play in the match against the UAE is for the coach to decide,” as quoted by Bangkok Post.
