Coach Leonardo Vitorino says “will never give up” following Indonesia defeat

Cambodia’s successive loss continued after they were beaten 2-0 by Indonesia in a friendly at the Olympic Stadium on Thursday.

This has been the third successive defeat for Cambodia coach Leonardo Vitorino since he took charge three months ago.

In the post-match press conference, the Brazillian expressed his defiance of his team’s performance.

“Indonesia have quality players, so if we make mistakes they will score. That’s what it is like at this level,” he said, as quoted by Khmer Times.

The 43-year-old is hoping for the better performance from his team in the future: “I will add one more thing. I will never give up. I will not stay down. We have a match in three days and I am here to improve the players for the future.”

To do that, Vitorino has lots of things to work out before the Warriors’ AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Afghanistan on June 13.
