Five young Indonesian players selected to practice in Barcelona

Five best young Indonesian players from the 2017 Milo Football Championship will have the opportunity to train in Barcelona.

Racik Caesar Rizky (Jakarta), Dunung Laksito Adi, Helsya Maeisyaroh (Bandung), Mahyudin, and Irfan Anugrah (Makassar) will train at FC Barcelona football school known as FCB Escola.

While in Barcelona, the players will receive training from FCB Escola coaches. The tiki-taka technique, Barcelona’s famous playing style, will be part of the curriculum for the youngsters.

“We really appreciate the football program from Nestle Milo because it is in accordance with the instructions of President Jokowi about the acceleration of national football development.”

“We hope to be more synergic with private parties such as Nestle Milo in early football coaching,” said Teguh Raharjo, deputy assistant for Sentra Sports Coaching Kemenpora RI, as quoted by Goal Indonesia.

Teguh also advised that the best players continue to practice and be disciplined.

Dunung, one of the selected young players, admitted he never dreamt of leaving for Barcelona.

“It feels like a dream, I promise to train hard and focus in order to realise my dream to become a football player who can carry the name of Indonesia,” said Dunung.

Former Indonesian national team striker and current scout Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto explained the criteria of assessment to select the best players. According to him, the selection of the five best players not just based on the technique and the ability to play football alone.
