Injury forced Indian youngster Ashique Kuruniyan returns home from Villarreal

Future Indian star Ashique Kuruniyan suffered a hamstring injury during his training stint with Spanish Primera Division side Villarreal last week.

The 19-year-old attacker will be completely rested from all sporting activities for about four to six weeks and will continue his rehabilitation process in India.

“Kuru will now continue his recovery and early stages of rehabilitation at home and the club would like to wish him a speedy recovery,” said Juan Anton de Salas, International Business Manager of Villarreal.

“We hope that he can join the team back in pre-season next year.”

Kuruniyan moved to Villarreal on loan from Indian Super League club FC Pune City in last October with his initial spell which was rumoured to be 2.5 months has been extended to a year.
